Sports Psychology, Gymnastics And Figure Skating

I recently wrote an ezine article on sport psychology and gymnasts.,-Female-Athletes-in-Distress&id=1775817

Writing this piece, caused me to reflect on my experiences with figure skaters and gymnasts. Not surprisingly, most of these patients have been females.

It seems that participants in these two sports have to contend with the pressure of being slim, attractive as well as the competition in their events and routines.

Because the juding is somewhat subjective in these two sports, the athletes in these sports have many challenges which they must overcome if they are to be successful.

Anyone who has competed in gymnastics or in figure skating knows what I am talking about as to their parents and their coaches.
